A Rhythmic Gymnastic Hoop Dance followed Intermission

The Waifs' Hoop Dance (shown below) followed Intermission. The audience was set well back to allow room for the gray area where the girls would perform their rhythmic gymnastic routines, a liminal zone between the realm of fairy tale and the real world. Down front, one of our four cameramen operated from an audience point of view and if you look closely, you may see the camera crane partially blocking the orchestra, with its red cables dangling down into view to the left of the woodland set.

We made it to intermission on schedule. Several guests gathered to cheer me on, fascinated by the scope and complexity of the production, a few non-relatives wondering where I found those wonderful young ladies. Anna pronounced perfect in her role, what a wonderful job I was doing, and how they couldn't wait to hear the rest of the story. Some even said how privileged they were to have been invited. As my well-wishers continued out to the Great Hall for refreshments, Peter Anderson came in from the production van to see how I was holding up, told me I was doing great, and it all looked good so far. All this, while I dealt with a myriad of technical questions from the crew. And then, before I ever left the stage, the audience began returning to their seats for Act Three.
