...and then, without warning, the wheels fell off!

     Left to right, Susan Allison, Bond Johnson, his lady guest and Cine-Media Creative Consultant Chester Dent. Way in the back is art student Roger Whiter. Bond senses trouble brewing.
     Left to right, Carl Pingitore, Travis and Mort Craig, representing the Columbia Pictures group. Mort is telling Travis they have irreconcilable differences with the other side.
     It had something to do with the David Begelman embezzlement scandal that rocked Columbia Pictures in the late 70's. What, exactly, was not clear. What was clear was the deal was off.
     Apparently, bad blood between the execs at Columbia and Fox was enough to kill the deal completely. What's worse, both sides withdrew, no longer interested in pursuing the venture.
