Letter From Ephesus
ANKARA TO CAPPADOCIA
HITTITE MUSEUM - ANKARA
In 1981, Bond and Travis went to Turkey on a fact-finding mission and to scout film locations, in the hope Travis would create an epic adventure to be filmed in that country, funded in large part by a multi-national entity with millions in blocked funds. They reported to the Ministry of Tourism in Ankara that was underwriting their travel, hotels and per diem while in Turkey, and were treated to an inspiring tour of the local Hittite Museum.  Perhaps a costume drama about conflicts between the Great Kings of antiquity.
SCULPTED CATHEDRAL
The illusion is that of a ruined building, but it is actually a collapsed sculpture, carved right out of the Cappadocian hillside. It was fast becoming apparent that Trkish locations had much to offer in production value, but what story could unite them? This Macedonian crusader-carved cathedral is historically far more recent than the ancient conflicts of the Hittites and Egyptians, but could be used for a murderous, suspense-filled cat and mouse ambush and chase sequence.
THE UNDERGOUND CITY
Shooting action in an underground city will be a challenge for actors and crews, but for this story, well be worth it. Keeping in mind that here is no North, South, East, or West in an underground city, simply by turning the camera around to shoot in the other direction, you may be able to shoot pursued and pursuers rushing toward and away from you, before your ever change your location. And the underground cities are real. Exploiting them is essential to this production, and will be likely to "wow" theater audiences as well.
